Spring Maintenance
If you live in the Victorville or San Bernardino area, then you know that spring is just around the corner. March 20th isn’t very far away, and it is time to think about getting your heating and air conditioning system ready for the changing seasons. Even though spring weather is mild, it’s about time to turn off the furnace and get the air conditioning ready for those harsh California summers.
Winter is Coming to an End
After the winter, your heater will have gotten a pretty good workout. Once it’s turned off, it’s a good time for your heating and air conditioning technician to check out the moving parts and make sure everything is running properly. This is a great time to clean the system, and check the motor and fans. The venting system can be checked for blockages.
A certified technician can remove the blower wheel and check it for dirt or debris. The heat exchanger and wiring can be checked for damage or corrosion. The electrical and gas can be checked for safety. The air intake grill can be cleaned and the filter replaced. These services will give you the peace of mind that your system will be safe and efficient for the rest of the winter and ready again when you fire it up this fall.
Live Comfortably in Your Home
With a central heating and air system a lot of the heat and air systems are shared. Things like air-intake filters, thermostats and ductwork are the same for both systems, but there are some air conditioning specific things you can have checked to get you’re a/c system summer ready. Coolant levels and pressure can be checked. The evaporator coil, condenser and compressor can be checked. Wiring can be checked for safety. Air flow from the ducts can be tested and adjusted and the thermostat can be calibrated as needed.
You may want to switch to a washable electrostatic filter. Sometimes the charge will attract more dust and particles than the regular filter. There are also thick media filters that a technician can install for more robust air filtering. A trained technician can suggest the best method of improving your heating and air conditioning system.
